Graduate Starting Salary and Internship Pay 2013

Graduate Students starting job salaries and Internship pay continue to be steady and in some cases it has bettered in 2013 from 2012 levels - especially for Engineering jobs, as per latest reports available. It is strong indication that services industries are also doing better at this time like retail and other product industries. 


Bachelor’s Degree: The average salary for bachelor’s degree interns indicated up just 0.3 percent to $16.26 per hour from $16.21 per hour last year. Among this group, engineering ($20.36), computer science ($18.96), and mathematics ($18.15) majors have the highest average hourly wages.

Master’s Degree: Surprisingly, the average salary for master’s degree interns plunged from $21.93 per hour last year to $21.90 per hour this year, demonstrating a decrease of 0.1 percent. NACE 2013 Survey reports the details. At $24.43 per hour, engineering majors earned the highest average salary among master’s degree interns, followed by physical sciences ($23.58), mathematics ($23.40), and business ($23.02) majors.



Average Starting Salary:  The starting salary of Graduates in Engineering ranged from $41000 to $72000 for various locations and Universities, as per data provided by PayScale.
